An underwater restaurant is definitely a luxury novelty. On our first trip to the Maldives, we had the opportunity to book an underwater restaurant at 5.8 Undersea which prompted us to compare other underwater restaurants in the Indian Ocean.
Underwater restaurants and the Maldives are synonymous. However which ones are the best-rated? There are seven available restaurants underwater in the Maldives, however, for a convenient visit you need to stay on the island where the restaurant is located or a quick speedboat ride away.
Underwater restaurants are a luxury and can cost $$$-$$$$ and would be a disappointing spend if you didn’t get the experience you expected.

Only Blu under Ocean Restaurant is accessible by two island resorts. The adults-only resort Oblu Select Loigili and family-friendly Oblu Experience Ailafushi.
Boasting the largest underwater restaurant in the Maldives, you are welcome to dine either at lunch or dinner. The larger dining space means there are many more diners in the space.
The horseshoe-shaped restaurant sits 6.8 meters below sea level. However, the windows are not floor-to-ceiling like other restaurants of this type.
Ithaa, Conrad Maldives Rangali Island

Ithaa undersea restaurant was the world’s first undersea restaurant, set on the island of Rangali, Conrad. Both lunch and dinner menus are available.
Sitting five meters under the sea, the restaurant gives a full 180-degree panoramic view of the surrounding corals.
The restaurant can also be reserved by diners for private dining occasions and offers a more intimate dining experience.

The restaurant is unlike other restaurants in the Maldives. with its opulently designed space. With a honeycomb glass ceiling allowing the ocean light to dance around. A unique underwater restaurant in the Maldives.
Even though its large windows allow you to peer into the ocean, it does not offer full 360 views.
